Accessibility Statement

Beersel Local Government strives to make its websites accessible, in accordance with the Flemish Administrative Decree of 7 December 2018 transposing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

This accessibility statement applies to www.beersel.be and its sub-websites. This website partially complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 level AA.

Partially compliant because some parts of our website are not fully compliant with these rules.

Restricted content

  1. Non-compliance with the Administrative Decree.

  • Certain images do not yet have a correct alternative description. We aim to have this adjusted for as many images as possible by the end of 2020. After that, we will retest on a regular basis.

2. Disproportionate burden

  • The Web Guidelines impose high requirements on PDFs. Certain information is provided as a PDF. The local government cannot guarantee that all these files comply with the Web Guidelines.

www.beersel.be is still being tested for accessibility. These criteria will therefore be further supplemented and updated as the tests progress.

Approach to promote accessibility

The local authority of Beersel has taken the following measures to comply with the accessibility requirements:

  • Internal check before publication: the web editors check all content for accessibility before publication.
  • Periodic internal control: the web editors perform interim checks on the content.
  • A periodic, automatic screening of the website is performed via the LCP accessibility tool. The tool is an aid used to test the site against digital accessibility guidelines, including screening for contrast. This website scored 72% for technical accessibility during the most recent check on February 19, 2020.
