At the top of the Beerselberg, in the heart of the charming center of Beersel, stands the parish church of Beersel. Upon entering the church, one immediately discovers several surprising art treasures. Admire the richly decorated Baroque interior and the alabaster sarcophagi of the noble Van Witthem family, who ruled over Beersel for centuries. Just a little further on, you will find the impressive Beersel Castle, once their proud residence.
The current church building dates from the early 20th century and is constructed in a charming Neo-Gothic style. The robust tower dates from the 15th century. The church is not normally accessible to visitors.
