Put on your walking shoes and discover the best of Beersel. The Kesterbeek Walk combines nature, heritage, and authentic craftsmanship in one captivating tour. From historic churches and charming country lanes to artisanal breweries and surprising art spots, here you can literally and figuratively taste the soul of the Zenne Valley.
You start the walk near the parish church and the Herman Teirlinck House. Writer Herman Teirlinck spent the last 30 years of his life in this villa from 1936. Via the Karpattenweg and the Laarheide, you continue towards the Garden of Unrest in the Klutsstraat. This garden is a creation of artist Al Balis, who transforms various discarded objects into a bizarre example of contemporary art.
Via narrow field and walking paths, you cross the Meigemheide to the Begijnenbos, with a beautiful view of the surrounding area. After the forest, the route leads back towards the center of Beersel via the Bruineput and the Beerselberg.
Departure point: Herman Teirlinckplein, 1650 Beersel
